The Ontario Ministry of Transportation has retained McCormick Rankin Corporation to initiate a Preliminary Design and Class Environmental Assessment Study to determine a long-term strategy to address the rehabilitation needs of the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) / Credit River Bridge and to address the future requirements for the QEW from Mississauga Road to the west of Hurontario Street, in the City of Mississauga, Region of Peel. The study limits extend 3.5 km from Mississauga Road to west of Hurontario Street.

The study will follow the approved environmental planning process for Group “B” projects under the Class Environmental Assessment for Provincial Transportation Facilities 1999, as amended in 2000. The study will consider all phases of the planning process, including:

  • Identifying structural and transportation issues
  • Generating and evaluating a full range of alternatives
  • Selecting a preferred alternative
  • Preparing a Transportation Environmental Assessment Report.
